Denver Startup Week starts September 12; Boomtown brings expertise to top sessions

In just a few days, the largest entrepreneurial event of its kind is set to take over Denver. The fifth annual Denver Startup Week is the place to attend more than 200 free events covering topics like IoT, healthtech, cannatech and diversity for founders, developers, designers and anyone interested in startup culture.

It’s not just about the learning, but also about the engagement. Networking is a huge part of this event, that last year saw nearly 11,000 registrations. “If you have a startup, or even just an idea, this is the place to come and be inspired,” Toby Krout, executive director of Boomtown Accelerator said.

Boomtown at Denver Startup Week

Boomtown has a huge presence at the 2016 Denver Startup Week. Not only are we a proud sponsor, but several Boomtown staff members and alumni are bringing their expertise to panels throughout the week as well.

Toby Krout, Boomtown’s executive director, will be lending his extensive experience to the panel “Mental Health in the Startup Scene.” Jose Vieitez, co-founder and co-director of Boomtown will be part of “Office Hours”. Jason Searfoss, Boomtown’s CFO, will be speaking on the panel “Accelerate.” AdJelly, which helps companies use Facebook ads effectively, will also be part of the “Accelerate” panel. The company just graduated from Boomtown’s summer cohort about a month ago, making it the most-recent Boomtown graduate to participate in Denver Startup Week. Boomtown staff will also be part of “Elevator Pitch in an Elevator” and “Accelerate your Business, Learn from Top Accelerators”.

Boomtown Alumni at Denver Startup Week

Boomtown spring 2016 alum, mcSquares, a dry erase collaboration system, is providing technology to increase collaboration and engagement on several startup panels. Parkifi was part of the fall 2014 cohort. Its technology simplifies parking challenges with real-time data. Parkifi is participating on the panel “Bridging the Gap: Taking Connected Devices from MVP to Production,” in addition to sponsoring the Denver Startup Week Bar Crawl event.

Brandzooka was part of the spring 2015 cohort. It is a video marketing tool for businesses that can’t afford a multimillion dollar ad buy and will be part of “The Future of AdTech and Digital Marketing.” Fall 2015 alum, Bold Betties, an adventure platform for women exploring the outdoors together, will be participating in “Women who Startup Summit.” A full calendar of Boomtown events is listed below:

Volunteer at Denver Startup Week

To have an event with so many parts moving at one time, organizers need help. If you have time to volunteer your time next week, email the organizers. Why bother? University of Denver’s MBA program has 10 reasons why you should volunteer during the week.

Whether you’re coming to the event as an attendee, an expert on a panel, or a volunteer, we look forward to meeting you at #DENStartupWeek!
