Marketing Director - US

Position Summary

Boomtown designs, implements, and operates exclusive, customized, turnkey programs that align with a company’s business strategy to harness the power of open innovation. Our Innovation Platforms complement internal initiatives, address industry-specific challenges, and create long-term competitive advantage.

We are looking for an experienced, strategic Marketing Director who will be responsible for leading the management of our innovation platform (aka accelerator) brands including all digital marketing, communications, and PR initiatives. In this role, you will help to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy and manage a global team of employees, contractors, and agencies. This position requires a highly self-motivated leader who is effective working both independently and collaboratively, who can develop and deliver a fully integrated marketing vision across a wide variety of platforms and oversee the implementation of the strategy through campaigns, events, digital marketing, video, website, content, social media, and public relations. As Director of Marketing, your mission will be to reach our target audience with optimal verbal and visual messaging, and consistently engage our audience, while reinforcing our brand, and our client’s brand.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Experienced digital marketer to manage our comprehensive digital marketing program including: paid search, email marketing, social media, website and SEO, content, analytics, demand gen, video, CRM and PR. 
  • Grow and continuously engage our audience by selecting the most effective marketing tactics and managing them with excellence.
  • Guide the team through planning, analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Manage the development of the accelerator brand, and the brand guidelines.
  • Develop/execute a fully integrated marketing plan across a variety of platforms.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Marketing to align the Marketing strategy as-needed.
  • Build brand awareness internally at the client through professional communications with employees, partners and executive leadership.
  • Direct and oversee all design, marcom, and video projects.
  • Oversee the implementation of the marketing strategy through innovative campaigns, events, digital marketing, video content, website, content, social media and public relations.
  • Create and adhere to an annual marketing budget.
  • Measure all campaigns and report on activity and analytics. Ensure KPIs and OKRs are met or exceeded. Seek continuous improvement.
  • Pick up the ball and run with it while wearing multiple hats.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Marketing, Business, Communications or Digital Media
  • Minimum of 3 years of technology, startup experience preferred
  • 5-7 years managing and leading distributed teams 
  • Experience working with a large corporation, as client or employer
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment with multiple partners
  • 10-15 years of developing marketing strategy and executing successful marketing campaigns and PR announcements, as well as experience managing vendors and contractors and leading a team of creative marketing professionals.
  • Knowledge of the newest and most effective marketing techniques and strategies, tools and platforms, with a strong focus on digital marketing, content and analytics
  • Dynamic leadership skills, ability to think outside the box, high attention to detail, and effective time management skills 
  • Strong multitasking abilities, amazing customer success skills, and well-honed oral & written communication skills 
  • This position reports into the Head of Marketing
