Comcast NBCUniversal and Boomtown announced The Farm Startup Accelerator yesterday at the Technology Association of Georgia’s (TAG) 2017 Georgia Technology Summit event!
Boomtown’s Executive Director Toby Krout presented The Farm’s unique concept to a crowd of nearly 1,000 attendees at TAG’s annual technology summit.
This is the first time Boomtown has held one if its accelerator programs outside of its home office in Boulder, Colo.
TAG has emerged as a world-class membership organization and an engine for economic development for the state of Georgia. With more than 35,000 members and 2,000 member companies, like Comcast, TAG’s mission is to educate, promote, influence and unite Georgia’s technology community to foster an innovative and connected marketplace that stimulates and enhances Georgia’s tech-based economy.
“We could not ask for a better partner than Comcast, and we could not ask for a better community than Atlanta,” said Boomtown Executive Director Toby Krout. “The city has amazing entrepreneurs, a supportive and visionary community and government infrastructure and a number of great support programs already in place. It is our goal to augment and complement this rich and diverse tech and startup community.”
The Farm will be housed at The Battery Atlanta, a 60-acre development that will include SunTrust Park as well as retail shops, restaurants, an office tower, hotel, an entertainment venue, residential units and the new nine-story Comcast Building that will house its Central Division, more than 1,000 employees and The Farm.
