Boomtown Update and What's Coming In 2021

Hello Boomtown Community!

We wanted to say hello and provide an update about what’s been happening in 2020 and what’s coming in 2021.  First, we hope everyone is safe and sound at home. Back in March, we moved our staff to remote work and will continue to keep our team at home until it is safe to return to the office.  At the same time, we moved our accelerator to a 100% virtual program, which was a great success. In case you missed it, please check out our Demo Day replay here, hosted by Barbara Corcoran of Shark Tank. Congratulations to Boomtown cohort 13!

This year’s Demo Day was the culmination of our three year partnerships with COPIC and CableLabs, launching more than 40 successful Patient Safety Health Tech and Hardware & Connectivity startups. We are deeply grateful to COPIC and CableLabs for their incredible support of our program and are proud of the work we have done together.

In Atlanta, we recently completed a successful virtual program and Demo Day for The Farm program, our accelerator with Comcast NBCUniversal. Congratulations to The Farm cohort 4, our most diverse class with 90% minority founders and 40% female founders.

Our Comcast NBCUniversal SportsTech accelerator program is kicking off in early 2021 featuring our partner consortium including NBC Sports, NASCAR, GOLF, Sky Sports, USA Swimming, US Ski & Snowboard, USA Cycling, and Comcast Ventures.  Our newest accelerator provides sports tech startups with unprecedented access to an unrivaled combination of advisors and a custom sports tech curriculum shaped by industry experts.

Stay tuned for our class announcement coming in late February. If you know of anyone with a sports background who would make a good mentor, ask them to apply here.

In the meantime, if you’d like to stay connected on all things sports tech + startups, subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on social media:

Thanks for your support of Boomtown and stay safe!
