Kerri Beers, Head of Marketing

Kerri Shea Beers is the Head of Marketing at Boomtown Accelerators, where she oversees marketing, communications, and PR strategy.

Kerri helps clients with her ability to solve complex business problems and her rare combination of creative and analytical thinking.

She has worked in high tech for more than 20 years – at startups, large corporations, and fast-growing small businesses. Kerri was the Marketing Director for Techstars, where she worked on branding and communications strategy, content marketing, and lead generation. At Techstars, Kerri worked on the corporate accelerator teams for Disney, Barclays, Target, and Ford.

Kerri founded a marketing consulting firm that provided strategic communications guidance to clients including Dell, AppDynamics (acquired by Cisco for $3.7B), Rally Software (acquired by CA Technologies for $480M), SolidFire (acquired by NetApp for $870M), and SendGrid (acquired by Twilio for $2B).

During her five-year tenure at Webroot, Kerri managed global marketing communications programs for the enterprise business unit of this $200M Internet security company. During a period of immense change and massive growth, Kerri managed all enterprise marketing functions for the North America, EMEA, and APAC regions including public relations, website, advertising, marcom, lead gen, customer reference programs, and events.

At MWH Global, a $1.3 billion dollar privately-held engineering firm, Kerri built the marketing function from the ground up for a software delivery startup business unit focused on asset management. Prior to this role, Kerri spent six years as a technical writer for a telecom startup where she designed and wrote software product manuals and training documentation for Avaya, Cisco, and Microsoft.

Kerri holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from James Madison University in English and Communications with concentrations in writing and journalism. As a ghostwriter for CEOs, her work has been published in Fast Company, Entrepreneur, and Huffington Post.

When she’s not happily hammering away at work, Kerri can be found hiking in the mountains above Boulder, CO, where she lives in the woods with her musician husband and three teenagers.
