Jack Donenfeld, General Counsel, Co-founder

Jack Donenfeld is the General Counsel and a co-founder of Boomtown Accelerators.
As general counsel, Jack helps Boomtown’s startups and clients navigate complex governance, corporate finance and deal-making issues to take advantage of opportunities and maximize results. A corporate and securities lawyer and a serial entrepreneur, Jack has served as a general partner for several investment funds and as a director for both private and public companies. In addition, he has been an investor in and counsel for emerging businesses in the U.S. and other countries, including France, the Bahamas, Russia, Ukraine and Nicaragua.
A veteran of large and small law firms, Jack has broad experience in capital raising, investment terms, and securities law matters. He has advised companies and audit committees in internal investigations and has testified nationally as an expert witness and advisor in litigation involving investments and securities, in addition to malpractice and ethics claims against large law firms.
Jack has been a member of Securities and Exchange Commission and state securities division advisory committees and has participated, by invitation, in the SEC's Government-Business Forum on Small Business Capital Formation.
He has been a Registered Investment Adviser and holds a Series 63 securities license from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Jack served as an Arbitrator for the Claims Administrator in_ SEC vs. Prudential Securities_, which resulted in total pay-outs in excess of $330 million.
Martindale-Hubbell awarded Jack its highest ratings for competence and adherence to ethical standards, a rating he has maintained throughout his professional career. Based on his work in securities law, he was selected for listing in The Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.
Jack was a Founding Member of and is a Director of the Real Estate Investment Association, which awarded him its Real Estate Fellow designation. He served as president and director of REIA’s predecessor, the Real Estate Securities and Syndication Institute, which awarded him its Specialist in Real Estate Securities designation.
Jack has been the Chairman of the Business Law Section of the Boulder Bar Association and has served as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Business. He is admitted to the Bars of the States of Ohio and Colorado, the District of Columbia and the United States Supreme Court.
Jack plays guitar, speaks French and enjoys skiing, cycling and tennis. He lives with his family in Boulder.
