Chris Traeger, Executive Director

Chris Traeger is an Executive Director at Boomtown where he oversees the Comcast NBCUniversal relationship. This includes Comcast SportsTech and the Comcast The Farm program.

Chris applies his diverse experience in legal, marketing, sales, business development, media, and operations to help find and fast-track the growth of early-stage companies. His main talents include discovering unique use cases for various technologies in complex business ecosystems and creating deep, ROI-driven partnerships that drive value for multiple stakeholders simultaneously.

Chris has more than 25 five years of experience in a myriad of roles with companies of all sizes. He began his career as General Counsel of Octagon, the largest sports and entertainment company in the world, and then transitioned to in-house counsel at Bank of America, overseeing all legal matters for 1,200 employees in Global Marketing and Corporate Affairs. After 11 years practicing law, Chris decided to make a career change to marketing. He led Sports Marketing for Bank of America for seven years. He then moved to NASCAR where he helped the sanctioning body build deeper relationships across its teams, tracks, drivers, and media partners. He then moved to Las Vegas with Legends Sports & Entertainment, where he led a 60-person sales team charged with selling naming rights, sponsorships, suites, tickets, and hospitality for the Raiders and Allegiant Stadium.

Chris has always been a creative person who is wired for continuous improvement. He applies his passion for innovation and creativity to help startup leaders envision how they can help disrupt, improve and innovate in complex ecosystems. Even inside large, risk-averse organizations, Chris has found ways to serve as a first-mover, using technology to achieve record-breaking results. Chris also enjoys mentoring and teaching people, especially his co-workers and startup leaders.

Chris received his Juris Doctorate and his Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Mississippi. He also studied for a year at the University of New Hampshire, where he was on a football scholarship. Chris has been a frequent speaker at universities and conferences throughout the U.S., speaking on topics ranging from Sports Law, Sales Promotion, Marketing and Advertising, Sports Sponsorship, and Career Development.

Chris resides in Southwest Florida with his wife, Kacey, and their three children. When he is not watching his kids play sports, he can be found at the golf course, fishing, or at the beach.
